Week 13 Describing a Historical Figure

 Think of a famous or important person in the history of your country. Now write about the person you chose. Write 75100 words. Write three or four paragraphs. Answer the following questions:


  • What was his or her name?
  • When and where did he or she live?
  • What was he or she famous for?
  • Why do you think he or she was important?                                                                                      


  • Here's an example: Louis Pasteur was a very important person in French history. He was born in 1822 in Dole near Dijon in France. He became a professor and then director of scientific studies at Lille University.

    Pasteur was a brilliant scientist. He is famous for his experiments to understand the causes of diseases.

    Before Pasteur, nobody knew about bacteria. He was the first person to find them. He invented ways to stop food going bad and he made medicines which prevent many illnesses. We still use these medicines today.
